Trip 169 170 - Sat-Mon - May 21-23rd

It stopped raining on Saturday so I decided to go down and prep the keel patchwork and get it painted. Plus, daub on some anti-critter goo on the Depthmeter sender.

The goo is a thick flat black sort of paint. I just glopped it on and hope the "Nasties" that live down there puke their guts out from the stuff.

After some light sanding, the keel came out very nice indeed. I hope this goes the distance and I do not see the dreaded Catalina Smile for a while.

Tom and I pulled up to Lake City and the Marina was five minutes from launching Empty Pockets. We hustled and in the water it went. We tied it up to the dock for a bit and got things settled for the horribly long trip from the Inner Harbor to the Outer Harbor.

All settled into Slip #875 for our Fourth Season with her. However, this is her thirty second season on Lake Pepin.

Tom, checking something out and waiting patiently for the Olde Mann.

As usual, we made our spiritual contribution to the Lake Pepin Home for Wayward Boys and Orphanage. It is really good the city provides such a wonderful rehab program for these young men and such pleasant quarters during the day.

Later ...
