Trip 154 - Sunday - Oct 24th
Our 12+ year old Maytag washing machine is on the fritz, and I needed all my tools, so we went for a Sunday Car Ride on a cool, cloudy day.
We started out in one car, and then the Check Engine light came on so we turned around and started again. We will have that looked at this week.
Marcia sure liked the gelcoat in the V-Berth and it looks so very fresh. The epoxy and glas in the bilge is also hard and turned out just great. Yes, it is kinda transparent and what is underneath is grungy, but it -is- The Bilge.
Then, we cleaned up from Friday and emptied some stuff from Empty Pockets. Before we left, I measured for the Boat Cover I might make. These dimensions will allow me to fetch the right amount of material and zippers and such.
Remember the movie Fried Green Tomatoes? On the way in a small town named Frontenac, there is "The Whistle Stop". Right on #61, and right across is the train tracks. We had a great meal and have found a new mom/pop restaurant to go to. Simple food. Great prices. Just like your mother used to make.

Here are The Plans. Everything dimension I need to know is on these two sheets of paper. The folks who make these, just grab a roll of cloth, Drape pieces across the beam and trim and cut in zippers etc.
We have never undertaken a project this large before but I figger, the worse that can happen is, to admit defeat and let the canvas guy finish it for me.
We had a quote last year for a tad over $1800. So far it looks like the material will come in under $750.

It will be moved from the edge and placed in the middle sometime this week.

Marcia, ready for lunch.
Later ...
