Update - Sunday - August 29th
Time to take the parts from long ago and rebuild the Head.

Today's Instruments of Torture. Now I use the darkroom sink for projects like this, and to give Annie her bathes.

The parts

This is the original bowl. Dated 1979. The base and pump have been replaced along the way.

Before and after. Softscrub really helps.

Done. Now to get it all back together.

I cleaned up the nuts and bolts etc on the wire brush of the grinder.

When flushing, the first part is to flush, then one should pump the bowl dry. Why? When Empty Pockets tips, one does not want the lake wawa to roll out of the head.
The little lever is used to close/open valves depending on what one is doing.

Took me a while to figure out which side to install where. The way it was done, was wrong. Feels better now.

Have to press the O-Ring into place.

The actual lift to suck wawa into the bowl and then flush the contents from the bowl to the holding tank.

There is packing material around the shaft with a compression nut to keep things tight and provide adjustability.

The flapper valve at the bottom to help hold things where they belong.

A special valve beyond the flapper that is called a Joker Valve. Kind of a last stop of defense against The Crap.

Where all sets.

The date. 'B' probably means February of that year.

On top of the bolts that rest against the China Bowl, one places rubber washers.

All clean and all done.

Herman wanted to see how things 'felt'. It was good all was dry or his tail would have gotten wet.

Ready for Empty Pockets.
Later ...
