Sail 05 - Wednesday Evening - July 28th

I had left work early to run some errands in Woodbury and after I got home, we took advantage of a sterling day and went to Lake CIty and sailed Empty Pockets.

A perfect set of circumstances. Wind right down the lake. Good rollers. A small whitecap breaking now and then. And, a perfect temperature and sunset.

Marcia got Official Recognition for her Girl Scout Brownie Wings. Kind of like a Tenderfoot Badge in Boy Scouting.

Now, she knows what to do as I Set the Sails, Come About vs Gybe, Into the Wind and Off the WInd, the Green and Red Buoys and which side to stay on, Flake the Mains'l, hang the Mains'l Cover, take the Tiller on and off, and, where in the world the Wind is now.

We had a great time going back and forth as we sailed to nowhere yet somewhere.

Brings back memories as I wanted to build a railroad setup in the basement, A Huge One too. Then, I asked, once built "Then what?". Just run the Choo Choo Train around the board?

The Dipsee Doodle at the end of the sail is when we helped another fellow gat back to his slip. His engine failed and we gave him a tow. That was a kinda fun thing to do.

Later ...
