Trip 141 - Tuesday Evening - July 6th

Not many good pix, I dropped my trusty Canon Elph - again. An older model I bought for Marcia when she went to the Virgin Islands in August of 2005. Actually, a "Demonstrator Model" Best Buy was closing out. It has been a real workhorse and now, has more than 12-13,000 images under its shutter.

So, I am shopping for a more current model Elph, and meanwhile, here is what still is, a Canon Sd200 ELPH.

Covers, main mother board.

Gears, main motor for extending the lens. Note the teeny tiny screws.

Flash assembly, LCD panel, main frame and battery box.

The Big Kahuna. Hard to see here, but it is a plastic box with the two barrels for extending the lens and achieving focus, the circuit for scraping pixels off the sensor, and the motor for the aperture.

I will get all this back together again, but I have no clue if it will work or not. The main problem, was the unit landed on the extended barrels of the lens and was forced to skip some gears or something. I will look at it when lotsa lotsa light.

Marcia and I finally "flaked" the sail on the boom. When it is lowered, it kinda falls wherever. When one stows it, one is "supposed to" care of neatness and preservation and not introducing new wrinkles etc. But, by standing at the mast and directing one fold to the left, the next to the right, left, right etc, then the other person will start at the end of the boom, and fold the sail, front to back, and lay it on the boom. In a neat pile and then use the sea ties to hold it firm to the boom. Followed by bagging it with the cover.

We, finally succeeded in taming The Beast. Not easy, as the fabric is so slippery and will not lay properly.

For those well wishers amongst you, Marcia has received a call from 3M and was told her prospects of coming on board looked "very good" at this time. More will be given when the person she had so many discussions with, returns from vacation in a few days.

Then, a new front and back door, carpet for the house. And, wheel steering and a new interior and electrical and lots more for Empty Pockets.

This weekend, will rebuild the head, size up the plumbing fittings I have for the wawa and icky tanks (From Loma Linde? Water and holding tanks. Still don't get it? Fresh and brown water tanks. Gray water simply goes in the drink.)

Then, start making the heat exchanger again, and gather whatever other fittings I need to plumb it. Plus, cruise for a new ELPH, and then order the mast/boom fitting plus new nuts washers for the keel followed by making some restrainers for the three plastic covers on the companionway, work on the bilge pump collector tubing, once again hook up the modest power panel for the lights, rebuild the Lcd lights for the bow and stern, install them, mow the grass, spray the weeds, put away boxes, and maybe get some sleep.

Later ...
