Trip 132-133-134 - Fri-Sat-Sun - May 14-15-16

I had to work from home Friday morning and early afternoon and that gave me a late afternoon start for Lake City.  Time to buff/wax the hull and get Empty Pockets ready for the wawa.

Is this enough stuff to qualify as a Junior Boat Guy?

Nope, not enough.

Now, we are at cruising altitude and all those who fix boats for a living would be proud of me.

Nice lines for something 32 years old.

Those of you who have followed this blog, know how this is done.  If, you are from Loma Linda, go back to the spring of 2008 for the process, mess, and sore knees and feet.  Takes about five hours per side.

The larger, lower hole used to have a plastic fitting for the exit.  Two years ago I purchased a nice stainless one, and it is time to put it in.

Looks pretty nice and a small flapper to keep the wawa out when a wave surprises us from the rear.

What it looks like.  Tomorrow I will cruise down with drill and goo and get it mounted in place, caulked, and connected.

I made the unconscious mistake of aligning the signage with the deck.  I could not afford to have a professional do it for me.

Life, is full of surprises.  The bottom of the mast is open and some swallows are raising babies in there.  Now, what to do with them when the boat gets moved and in a few days, the mast gets raised.

We will probably fetch them form the end and bring the babies to the Raptor Center.  A fine organization that does nothing but save wild critters.  Last year I brought them an albino squirrel that got hit by a car in Woodbury.  They set his leg, nursed him to health and brought him back to the same spot and released him.

Later ...
