Return From Hagerstown - Friday - Sunday - March 26th - 28th

All things must end.

After doing 'The Numbers', between moving everything ourselves or using the same crew that moved us Nov '08, we were within a hundred dollars of letting them do the Heavy Lifting.

I flew out Wed night and helped with whatever on Thurs. Marcia had done a wonderful job of packing before I got there. Her last day was Friday, and was home at 11:30. After some final loading, and reloading, we left at 3:30.

This past month has been very hard on me. Plans made, that others scuttled. But, in all my travels, I have learned, 'Every thing, works for good'.

This too, in the end, will be good.

All that has really changed, is a burp in the timing, and the method and place. But in the end, we will relocate to a warmer clime, and close to water for Empty Pockets - I or II. And, with four hands instead of two, fixing the house will go faster ...

Btw, the trip to Hagerstown in Oct '08, we left Woodbury at 3:30 Friday and pulled into Hagerstown about 3:00pm Saturday afternoon. About 1025 miles.

A couple years later, I can not do that any longer. So, we left at 3:30 Fri and got to St Clairsville that night, and to Champaign the next. Weather was good all the way back when we arrived in Woodbury Sunday at about 5:00pm..

The last glimpse of the very nice condo Evelyn and Mark rented us. They, were the finest folks we have ever rented from and made Marcia' stay in Hagerstown much easier and far more pleasant.

Fred (aka Freddy).

Originally, we rented a unit across town that was smelly and run down in another neighborhood. We knew of these newer units as they are two blocks from her office, but felt we could not afford them and knew of nothing to rent.

The second day of Marcia' job, she walked over to these units and spotted a neighbor who was out walking Ziggy and asked him if he knew of anything to rent ...

The rest is history.

Ziggy. This animal will add years to Fred's life. Fred has the best legs in town for an 83 yr old man as he walks Ziggy 6-10 times a day. He watched out for her when I was absent and together they made daily trips to feed some feral cats on the other side of town. A really nice man we will sorely miss. A staunch Democrat which led to some interesting discussions between all of us. Me, the Ultra Conservaive I am ...  Truly ...

Looking sharp, some where, on some freeway, on the way home.

I really wonder if that Spoiler increases traction. I really do.

Driving down to Hagerstown Oct '08, we went to Chicago then due east to somewhere and southeast to Hagerstown.

The return was due west from Hagerstown to somewhere and due north to Woodbury. I-70 is alot more interesting than I-80. As our neighbor said of I-80, "that road is so wrong ... ".

We also made a surprise stop in Dayton to congratulate her nephew on achieving his Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Quite an accomplishment, it is ...

Later ...
