Trip 104/105 - Friday Evening / Sunday - August 14th / 16th
Time to get the mast back in the air. And a quick trip Sunday for my tools.

After prepping the wiring, next step was to sew on the leather tip protectors to the spreaders. I prefer leather to rubber as rubber can bind as the jibsail slips past.

The following images were created at the Gin Pole dock. A tall pole with an arm that has a cable with hook/strap at one end, and a large wheel at the other for cranking. It is really nice the Lake City Marina provides this free of charge. Other marinas we have seen near Annapolis use a crane and charge $100-300 for the service. For up. And for down. Pricey.
The following images are self descriptive and will not have too much commentary. Tim's wife Terri created these.

Ready to start lifting.

Well folks, in the past six weeks, Mr Scale is back to the green marker, down from the red which was my max weight, and the belt is two holes over from before. Feels good and is helpful to keep on track. Just had a physical. My Vit D is way low, cholesterol 200 down from 250, blood pressure 120/80-85, glucose high and all else is fine. I will get on top of all this.

Now to pass the wiring to Tim who will catch the end as it nears the handhole in the pedestal down below.

The wire comes down the mast and makes a small loop back up. The cable ties then prevent all that from going down the tube. All this forms a drip loop at the casting which prevents the water from going down into the compression post.

Birds stuffed the mast with weeds and grass. Amazing.

It is back where it belongs. The process went very well with all the helpers.

Bread for the ducks.

Terri's daughter Ellie with her friend Sarah.

Tim and Connor.

Belowdecks, trashed ...
Sunday ... Quick trip to retrieve all my tools.
This past week, the heater core in the Expedition leaks, the grass trimmer carburetor was plugged, cleared that and the magneto went out, the bearing at the top of the steering shaft in my 911 went away so the wheel goes up and down an 1/8", the grass in back was really long and I locked up one of the bearings that the blade attaches to and my Internet connection is flunkie as well.

The Admiral looking sharp as always.

The First Mate ...

Our 911, just turned 179,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. The clutch was replaced by the previous owner and is still going strong.
Marcia and I came to the conclusion, 24 years ago, the passenger compartment was larger.
