Trip 98 - Tuesday Evening - August 4th

Well, time to fish or cut bait. I went own with a very good feeling, I had exhausted all the possibilities except busted Injector Pump or, the paper toweling in the Intake Port trick.

Let's find out ...

Intake Manifold ...

A chunk of Bounty's Best Paper Toweling. All wadded in there. When I was assembling the engine, I must have turned it over a few times and "Blooop" - in it went.

I turned the engine over so the intake valve was open. Just in case the toweling had gotten pinched by a closed valve.

I made a tool that would not bend easily and hook that chunk of paper.

Kind of out followed by In My Hand ...

I found this under the engine in the pan. It is the gasket from inside the Injector Pump. Time to tae a few things apart one last time and put the pump together correctly.

The engine with dangling wires and the antifreeze for cooling the engine. Now I have to get the radiator finished and installed. Until then, I will go slow ...

Btw, the engine is very smooth on all throttle settings. And, the popping and stuff from running it in the garage is gone now.

I am so glad the engine is alive again ... It feels so very good ...

Later ...
