Home - Fri Nite - Saturday - June 26/27

Not much to show, but the engine is now in the car waiting for the trip tomorrow. It is a good feeling knowing the blue, yellow, black, red and clear have been accomplished.

I was reminded today, with a project as I have undertaken, there are only two deadlines. When Empty Pockets comes out of the water and when it must be back in. The Marine determines these dates, not me.

All else, is an unending series of tasks large and small that must be completed in some degree of sequence and workmanship.

What was (and then some) ...

The decal came from Australia.

What a difference in the decal.

This is some of the finest lacquer I have used. It does dry crystal clear and is a pleasure to apply.

I used a small brush for all the lines and connections.

The big brass thing is an adapter to go from the large threads to 1/4" pipe thread and the smaller brass thingy with electrical post/nut is the engine temp sender.

I used teflon tape to seal the threads. A good connection thru the sensor to ground (Little thingy to big thingy to the engine block) must happen. Knowing the big thingy to the block was a solid connection, I measured the resistance between the big and little thingy.

A solid connection. No resistance.

I measured the gap again. Right on the money.

The finished product.

I will leave the transmission, starter, alternator, pulleys and some other small parts off for now. It will be easier to handle the lighter engine on board Empty Pockets.

All painted.

Later ...
