Sail - Wednesday Evening - Sept 17h

Tom joined me for a sail after supper. Beautiful weather, light winds. After the sun set, the wind hauled around 180 degrees. Amazing.

I have added a new feature to this feature laden, information packed blog. I came by a Gps from a friend's son. A couple years ago, I gave his young man a Radio Controlled car I no longer needed. Then, a couple weeks ago, I was told he wanted to give me his used Gps.

So, whenever possible, now you too can see if we sail in circles.

The Big Picture of Lake Pepin. About 25 miles long, about three miles wide at the widest. We sailed from 6:30 til 9:00 and as you can see, did not get vary far at all.

A bit closer view.

Yes, we too can sail in circles as we took down sails.

And, we can impose our path onto Google Earth.

The longer red line indicates where we ended up when finished. Not bad! As, that is our slip. The other one indicates the "Sojourn". Gene and Kay;s motorsailer with which they are now "Living The Dream". Almost halfway down the Mississippi to the Gulf.

Here is a link to their website. They post every day and left their Safe Harbor in Lake City 2-3 weeks ago. Both great people, and Every Day Is Saturday ... (for them)

Btw, this harbor is wonderful and run by some very professional and helpful folk. Over 630 slips and in the Outer Harbor, 90% are sailboats of all sizes. Up to 40 feet.

Later ...
